Michael Weatherly, star of NCIS, has hinted at the return of Tony DiNozzo by saying that the character had “unfinished” business, which has roused fans’ interest once again.
The CBS police procedural’s Tony DiNozzo was a fan favorite from the show’s inception until his heartbreaking exit in 2016. His departure occurred after he received the news that his beloved colleague and coworker, Agent Ziva David (Cote de Pablo), had apparently passed away, and that they had a daughter together, Tali.
Tony departed from NCIS for a fresh start in Paris after he thought Ziva had passed away. After Season 17 came to a close, fans were delighted to hear that Ziva was alive and had reconnected with her family. Tony and Ziva haven’t been seen on the show since then.
When asked on Twitter by a fan which of his characters he would prefer to play—Jason Bull in CBS’ courtroom drama Bull or DiNozzo—the 55-year-old actor first teased, “I suppose you leave out Logan Cale on purpose,” making a cheeky reference to his previous part in Dark Angel. But what really got people talking was his next comment: “I intend to write more about DiNozzo in the future because he is the only character who felt incomplete.” It will be observed…
Many NCIS fans took to social media to share their elation at the revelation. Fans are eagerly awaiting the possible return of the attractive and funny character, DiNozzo, to the series after Weatherly acknowledged the unfinished plot.
