History of Toby Keith’s Photography: Early Success to Personal Passions

Toby Keith liked life and his favorite bar. The country singer died at 62 on February 5th, about three years after being diagnosed with stomach cancer. He frequently discussed his cancer, affection for his wife and children, and music.

Toby was born July 8, 1961, in Clinton, Oklahoma. After his grandmother gave him a guitar at 8, he fell in love with music. He wrote songs as a youth and played in local taverns with Easy Money after high school.


Toby prioritized music after working in oil fields. He was successful with his 1993 debut album, notably “Should’ve Been a Cowboy.”

He married Tricia at 20. They married in 1984 and had three children. Toby’s career took off with classics like “How Do You Like Me Now?!,” “Beer for My Horses,” and “I Love This Bar.”

Despite not winning a Grammy, he received many honors. Toby ran his own record business and managed country singers.

Toby’s kids grew up with his fame but was less interested in music. He tried acting in “Broken Bridges.”

Toby founded a clothing line and “I Love This Bar and Grill” eateries outside of music and film. He co-founded Ally’s House, a cancer charity for kids.

Toby loved racehorses, vehicles, and motorcycles. Despite supporting multiple presidents, he didn’t want people to assume he had a political agenda.

Toby revealed gastric cancer in 2022. Shows continued despite treatments and surgeries. He won a 2023 prize and performed in Vegas.

Toby Keith died at 62 on February 5, 2024. Family gathered him as he heroically fought cancer.
