Jimmy Carter and Rosalynn Carter have been exchanging covert messages of affection since the 1940’s.

The union between Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter, both at the remarkable age of 98, holds immense importance in Carter’s life.

As per the advice of the oldest living U.S. president, there are two key factors that contribute to a happy and successful marriage. Carter shared his wisdom during an interview on Monday’s “Good Morning America” on ABC, emphasizing the importance of choosing the right partner. And every evening, we strive to reconcile any disagreements from the prior day.

In 2019, the Carters became the longest-married presidents, surpassing George H.W. Bush and Barbara Bush. In July 2022, they celebrated their 76th wedding anniversary.

What strategies can be employed to maintain the spark in a long-term relationship? Frequently, the most effective solutions are the ones that are straightforward.

During the 1940s, when the former president was a young naval officer, he came up with a heartfelt way to express his love for his wife.

You mean the world to me. During a 2014 interview with People, he mentioned that he had adopted a phrase from his parents and frequently used it with Rosa.

ILYTG became a significant symbol of their bond, so much so that Jimmy had it engraved on a compact that he gave to Rosalynn.

The contract paperwork is stored in the Jimmy Carter Presidential Library and Museum in Atlanta, Georgia.

The Carter children have also adopted ILYTG as a means of communication, just like Jimmy.

Now, expressing love through text or email is a common practice among our children. According to him, they usually only provide the initials. In addition, the initials are sometimes modified, leaving you uncertain about their intended meaning.

Carter has come to realize the significance of spending quality time with his partner and allowing each other the freedom to pursue individual interests. They frequently participate in activities such as fly fishing, bird watching, and attending church. Every evening, they make it a habit to recite passages from the Bible before retiring for the night.

During an interview with the Associated Press on July 4, Rosalynn Carter referred to their relationship as a “partnership.” Rosalynn remarked, “I had a greater understanding of the business on paper than he did.”

The period of isolation the Carters experienced in their Plains, Georgia, residence during the coronavirus pandemic played a significant role in the gradual growth of their bond. During a guest appearance on “GMA,” the 39th president shared that their 75-year marriage had strengthened their love for one another. I find that to be quite remarkable. It’s a rare occurrence for couples, but it happened to us.

They are absolutely irresistible. The Carters are incredibly kind and authentic people.

I hope that they will continue to receive blessings from God.
