NCIS: Los Angeles concluded its 14-season tenure in May 2023, however, many prominent performers from the show are still involved in the NCIS series. LL Cool J is set to portray the character of Sam Hanna in several episodes of Season 3 of NCIS: Hawai’i. Additionally, it has been reported that Daniela Ruah, known for her role as Kensi Blye in Los Angeles, will take on the role of director for an episode of Hawai’i, as well as an episode of the main program. After the actress made her announcement about returning to NCIS, other performers from the program, like Brian Dietzen and Erik Palladino, responded with playful reactions to the exciting news.
Previously disclosed information indicates that Ruah will direct an episode of NCIS Season 21 this month, scheduled to be shown in March. Following this, in February, she will transition to directing an episode of Hawai’i Season 3, which is set to premiere in April. Ruah naturally shared updates about her directorial projects on Instagram, accompanying her photos with a written caption:
The post received an inundation of encouraging comments. Brian Dietzen, the actor portraying the character of Jimmy Palmer in the television show NCIS, stated:
Despite Kensi Blye making her first appearance on NCIS in Season 6, namely in the two-part episode “Legend” that served as a backdoor pilot for NCIS: Los Angeles, Daniela Ruah and Dietzen did not have any scenes together. It is remarkable that after fifteen years, these two individuals will finally get the opportunity to collaborate, albeit with one of them not appearing on screen. Additionally, Erik Palladino, who made multiple appearances on the television show NCIS: Los Angeles in the role of Vostanik Sabatino, added the following comment:
However, the accolades for Daniela Ruah were not limited to individuals affiliated with the NCIS franchise. Regarding Jamie Camil, renowned for his portrayal of Rogelio de la Vega in Jane the Virgin, he expressed his support solely through the use of emojis.
TV presenter/actress Filomena Cautela succinctly characterized Ruah’s latest professional achievements with a single word:
Heather Morris, known for her role as Brittany Pierce on Glee, humorously commented on Ruah’s directing work on NCIS.
Daniela Ruah has directed a total of six episodes of NCIS: Los Angeles, in addition to one episode of the miniseries Contado por Mul. It is uncertain whether she will portray Kensi Blye in any of these other shows. However, if the NCIS and NCIS: Hawai’i episodes are successful, it would not be surprising if she is invited to direct other episodes. Perhaps she will eventually travel to Australia to work discreetly on NCIS: Sydney as well.
NCIS Season 21 and NCIS: Hawai’i Season 3 will both debut on CBS on Monday, February 12. Paramount+ subscription grants access to both those shows and other offerings from the NCIS franchise.
