In just four days, a TikTok video showing a prospective barrister learning she has passed her bar exams has garnered over 9 million views.
Base in Cardiff When Seren Lewis and her grandparents opened her bar results, she recorded the poignant moment when the three of them learned the wonderful news.
Lewis completed her masters and LLB studies in Manchester before completing her bar course at The University of Law.
“My biggest accomplishment to date is passing the bar and qualifying as a barrister,” Lewis captions the photo. But without my grandparents, for whom I shall always be eternally grateful, it would never have occurred. The most unselfish thing someone could have done for me was to take me in at two years old and retire early to take care of a toddler.
The aspirant solicitor goes on:
Bar school is still incredibly expensive and beyond of reach for most UK residents. They chose to refinance their property, which they had paid off so many years ago, in order for me to go. Without it, I would not be where I am now.
Over 15k comments and almost 9 million views have been recorded for the video thus far. “I’m literally crying for you,” one person exclaimed, as Lewis received many congratulations for her accomplishment.
