The Bremerton School District in Washington State unanimously approved the settlement, which would pay former coach Joseph Kennedy a substantial $1,775,000.

Kennedy has received clearance to return to Bremerton High School in 2023 as an assistant football coach.

Kennedy will get a $5,304 stipend for his work on the 2023 football season, according to a district statement.

School board president Alyson Rotter says the school community is glad to put this almost eight-year legal battle behind them so they can concentrate on what really matters: providing our students with the finest education possible.

The coach got two pieces of excellent news after being let go by the company. The stipulated recompense comes first.

He tasted justified for the first time in June when the Supreme Court decided in his favor by a vote of 6-3.

He was allowed by the constitution, the court ruled, to kneel next to student athletes and offer prayers on the field after games.
