Mysterious and still a wonder of ancient building is the Great Pyramid of Giza. Few people ever see its summit, but 35-year-old Brazilian Yanis Terzis recently used his paramotor to shoot some amazing video from the top. Psychiatric administrator and pilot Terzis set off on a paramotor event in Luxor and Cairo to fly over Egypt’s historic landmarks, including the Sphinx.
Terzis got authorization in advance to lawfully record his journey with a GoPro Hero 10 strapped to his helmet. His goal was to get unusual viewpoints of the temples and pyramids. Terzis risked flying so near to the Great Pyramid that his feet nearly touched its summit. His video, which has been seen more than 7 million times on YouTube, shows minute features etched into the white stone of the pyramid.
From below, the pyramid looks pointed, but the summit is shockingly flat. Built about 2560 BCE, the Great Pyramid, one of the Seven Wonders of the World, is a monument to ancient engineering. Originally standing at a height of 482 feet, erosion and stone removal have brought it down to about 449 feet. With this amazing video, Terzis gives a unique viewpoint on the eternal magnificence of this famous monument by giving a rare look onto its peak.
