Speaking about his lengthy connection with Diana Ross, Smokey Robinson claimed that for a period they were more than simply pals. Despite being married to his first wife, Claudette Rogers, he said in a recent interview with the Guardian that they had a romantic relationship for around a year. Although he acknowledged that it occurred during their time together at work, he nevertheless called it a lovely experience.
Since they were ten years old, Diana Ross and Smokey Robinson, two well-known singers, have been pals. When Robinson and his family relocated to the same street as Ross and her family, they grew even closer. They were close to Aretha Franklin as well.
“It’s amazing to know we were kids playing together,” Robinson remarked. These individuals are currently among the most well-known in the entire globe. We were having a great time.
Franklin was the object of Robinson’s teenage crush, but their relationship never developed. But their friendship developed into something more with Diana Ross.
Robinson claimed that their relationship developed organically and that neither of them initiated contact.
“She was young and focused on her career, and I was trying to help her,” he said in his explanation. I even took her to see Motown. She wasn’t after me, and I wasn’t chasing her.
But their affair did not last. Robinson revealed that Diana informed him she was unable to go on as she was aware of his wife, Claudette, and that he still had deep affection for her.
When Robinson thought back on his relationship with Ross, he said it made sense to him—something that many people find hard to understand: love. He came to understand that although it’s socially unacceptable, people might love more than one person at once. He clarified that if love were controlled, no one would take the chance of suffering harm.
Although Robinson acknowledged having an affair with Ross, he dismissed claims that they were Michael Jackson’s biological parents with a laugh. He laughed at the notion and categorically rejected it.
