The son of football star Tom Harmon and actress Elyse Knox, Mark Harmon came into this world in Burbank, California on September 2, 1951. Harmon mulled between a future in advertising or law after finishing college in 1974. He did begin his career as a merchandising director, but he quickly opted to pursue acting instead.
