It’s been a while since Hollywood writers’ and performers’ strikes halted production of our favorite shows. After returning to normal, we may expect the bittersweet end of CBS’s Blue Bloods.
For those unfamiliar, Blue Bloods is an American police procedural that has been airing since 2010. The sitcom chronicles the Reagan family, a close-knit Irish Catholic law enforcement family. Family includes dad and NYPD Police Commissioner Frank Reagan (Tom Selleck), his eldest son and detective Danny (Donnie Wahlberg), youngest son and sergeant Jamie (Will Estes), and daughter Erin (Bridget Moynahan), an assistant district attorney.
The family has battled with murderers, mobsters, corruption, tragedy, and grief, yet they always congregate around the dinner table on Sunday nights to bond.
Goodbye
Blue Bloods’ final season premieres in February 2024, and CBS is revealing further details about its ending. This means some familiar faces may return to screens.
Danny and his partner Maria Baez (Marisa Ramirez) investigate a homicide in Season 14 and find a good suspect. Blue Bloods made a great casting move by recasting Malik Yoba as this character.
Longtime viewers may know Yoba as Danny’s ex-partner Darryl Reid in Season 6. He planted evidence during a homicide inquiry in season 6.
Danny may process his thoughts about Darryl by bringing him back and putting him in the hot seat. Danny and Baez must now investigate Danny’s trusted man objectively.
